Samsung DROID Charge delayed because of LTE outage?

Conspicuously missing from today's product availability lists is the new DROID Charge from Samsung. The DROID Charge is the next 4G LTE smartphone for Verizon Wireless and was expected to hit stores today, but it is not available anywhere on Verizon's site.

Engadget is reporting that the DROID Charge has had its launch delayed due to the LTE outage that has affected Verizon Wireless since yesterday. Based on an internal memo that Engadget received, the hold-up is due to "unexpected delays" and a new date has yet to be set.

We will be watching this closely and report more as we find out what is going on with the DROID Charge launch.
