The 2011 NBA Finals schedule is ready to go, with the Miami Heat going up against the Dallas Mavericks. The NBA Finals schedule will be ready to go on Tuesday, with Miami hosting Game 1. It will be a re-match of sorts, putting Dirk Nowitzki up against Dwyane Wade for their second finals match-up.
The games will all be on ABC, with Miami getting the homecourt advantage in this best-of-7 series. That puts Game 1 in Miami on Tuesday, May 31, with a start time of 6 p.m. PDT (9 p.m. EDT). Playing down in Florida could be a tough task for the Mavericks, and it will certainly be the best opponent that they have gone against in these playoffs. Somehow the Mavs avoided playing both the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs on their way to this final series.
Miami had to deal with their main nemesis in the Boston Celtics and then beat the Chicago Bulls in just five games. Now they will have to call on some even better defense if the plan is to stop Nowitzki and Jason Terry off of the bench. Dallas is on a mission right now, especially with leader Jason Kidd trying to get a ring before he decides to retire. Now this might be one of the final chances that roster has to get a title for Mark Cuban.
This has all the makings of an extremely competitive showdown, and it will be the perfect stage for either Nowitzki or LeBron James to really make a legacy for themselves.
